TANNSON CHARITABLE DONATIONS AND SPONSORSHIP 
Tannson sponsored a page in a magazine issued to children at local hospitals. This is to keep children amused during their stay in hospital and also gives hospital information for parents. 

Evening for the TunaHAKI Foundation Ball
As a corporate sponsor for the “Evening for the TunaHAKI Foundation”, 10 Tannson staff & partners attended the Ball on Saturday 17 February 2007 at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Glasgow. A total of £45k was raised on the night with sponsorship money still arriving. The Ball was organised by One Solution for their own registered charity One4Kids. This year they are supporting the TunaHAKI Foundation which helps orphans and vulnerable street children in Moshi, the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania, to become self-reliant, thus ensuring basic human needs, including food, clothing, shelter, education, medical care, and the right to a secure future. The United Nations Human Development Report ranks Tanzania 164th out of 177 countries, making it one of the poorest nations in the world.

Wooden Spoon Dinner
Tannson took a table of 10 at the Wooden Spoon Dinner at the Hilton Hotel Glasgow on Wednesday 21 February. The Wooden Spoon Society is Rugby’s charity whose mission is to enhance the quality and prospect of life for children and young people in the UK and Ireland who are disadvantaged, either physically, mentally or socially.

Tannson donated two bottles of Bollinger Champagne to Redrow Homes as a raffle prize for their charity evening on 13 October 2006 in aid of Ninewells Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Dundee and Tommy’s.

Wear It Pink
Tannson staff raised £80 during the “Wear It Pink” Breast Cancer Campaign on 27 October 2006. This involved staff donating £2 for the opportunity to wear pink. A chocolate fountain with pink marshmallows was provided as an incentive for those brave enough to wear pink! Organiser Louise Mason is pictured (left) presenting a prize for “Pinkest Tannsonee” to Wendy Weir.

Tannson were one of the sponsors of the Blackford Highland Games on Saturday 27 May. Surveyor Ian Little helps with the organisation of the Games every year.

Tannson were delighted to provide a sponsorship sum of £400 to The Snowflake Company. This is an enterprise project set up by children at the Abbots Lea School in Liverpool to produce Christmas cards to raise funds for the school. Abbots Lea is an inner city school exclusively for autistic children. The project will help develop artistic and entrepreneurial skills.

Tannson also donated £500 to One 4 Kids on behalf of CHAS (Childrens Hospice Association Scotland).

Tannson staff raised £400 and friends during a sponsored walk of the West Highland Way. The money raised by their valiant efforts will go to Rachel House and Robin House, the two children’s hospices in Scotland run by CHAS. See the Tannson Events section for more details of the walk

Following donations and a charity raffle, Tannson staff raised £562.50 Tannson Holdings matched this amount and a total of £1125.00 has been donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee to aid the Tsunami recovery. Many thanks to the staff who contributed to this appeal.
